Kinesiology
A kinesiologist guides you through exercise-based sessions — building strength and control, based on how you actually move.
When Kinesiology Can Help
Kinesiology starts with understanding how you move — your habits and patterns, not just the injury. From there, your kinesiologist chooses exercises based on what that shows, whether you're working through something specific or simply want to move more. Either way, you leave understanding your body a little better than when you started.

What's the difference between Kinesiology and Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy covers diagnosis, hands-on treatment, and calming down acute pain. Kinesiology picks up from there — progressive exercise, movement correction, and building strength so you can keep going.
How does kinesiology work alongside my physiotherapy sessions?
Your kinesiologist and physiotherapist work as a team. While physiotherapy clears acute restrictions or inflammation with hands-on work, kinesiology builds on that with active movement retraining, progressive loading, and functional exercise.
What should I wear to my kinesiology appointment?
Comfortable athletic clothing and supportive shoes – kinesiology sessions are active and exercise-based, so you'll want to move freely.
What can I expect during my first kinesiology session?
Your first session starts with a functional movement assessment — posture, joint mobility, core stability, exercise tolerance. Your kinesiologist then guides you through your first active routine, checking your technique and comfort along the way.
Is kinesiology covered by extended health insurance?
While we are unable to bill kinesiology visits directly, you will be provided with a detailed receipt that can be submitted to your insurance provider. Some BC extended-health plans cover kinesiology under paramedical benefits. Coverage varies by employer, so it's worth checking your specific policy.
How does ICBC coverage work for active rehabilitation?
After a car accident, ICBC pre-approves 12 kinesiology sessions in the first 12 weeks — no referral needed, just your claim number at your first visit. Past that window, we can help you request extended coverage through your adjuster.

Other Treatments We Offer
Physiotherapy, Massage, Dry Needling and more, all here when your plan calls for it. If you're not sure this is the right place to start, book a physiotherapy assessment.
