Clinical Pilates
Pilates taught one-on-one by a physiotherapist, with every exercise chosen for your body and adjusted as you go.
When Clinical Pilates Can Help
Clinical Pilates is Pilates used as treatment: slower, more precise, and adjusted to what your body can do that day – on the reformer, a mat, or whatever suits what you're working on. You'll leave knowing what to practise, and more about how to lift, carry, and move through your day without paying for it later.
What to expect

01
Assessment
We start by watching how you move and asking what you want to be able to do. That's what the sessions ahead get built from.

02
Treatment
Your physiotherapist takes you through tailored exercises, correcting as you go, and brings in the reformer when its called for.

03
Progress
The springs get adjusted and the exercises get harder, so you keep building strength, control, and stability.
How is Clinical Pilates different from regular Pilates?
Regular Pilates is a class where everyone follows the same routine. Clinical Pilates is one-on-one with a physiotherapist — it starts with a full assessment, and every exercise during your session, including on the reformer, is chosen for your specific injuries, movement limits, or goals.
Is Clinical Pilates safe if I have an active injury, back pain, or no prior experience?
Yes — it's built for injury recovery, ongoing pain, and complete beginners alike. Equipment like the reformer uses spring support to take weight off your joints and assist your movement, so you can strengthen safely without flare-ups.
What should I wear to my Clinical Pilates session?
Comfortable, stretchable clothing — leggings, joggers, or fitted shorts — that lets your therapist see your movement and alignment clearly. Most sessions are done in grip socks or bare feet for traction on the equipment.
What should I expect during my first Clinical Pilates session?
Your first session starts with a movement and posture assessment to find muscle imbalances and weak spots. Your physiotherapist introduces you to the equipment and guides you through core-activation exercises based on what your assessment showed.
Is Clinical Pilates covered by extended health insurance?
Clinical Pilates can be billed under your plan’s physiotherapy coverage when it's used as a treatment tool since it’s delivered one-on-one by a physiotherapist.
